Who We Are?

MY name is Candice Similton and currently I own a soul food truck called Candice’s Food For The Soul. My Food truck service operates out of a large, self-contained/trailer vehicle. My food truck is designed to travel to different locations and serve food and beverages to customers on the go. My food truck business has become increasingly popular in the recent years, as it offfers a flexable and low cost menu, and a alternative traditional atmophere. As the main chef I choose to focus on a specific cusine such as SOUL FOOD whereas my rescipes generated from my granmother. Currenty my foood truck/portable kitchen is rolling into catering events, corporate parties, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and even in your backyard.

As I started my food truck business I have obtained the necessary permits and licenses, and developed a unique concept for my business, such as catering, and creating recepies for my business. Overall, the food truck business has been a rewarding and a successful venture which I am passionate about my food, and always willing to put in the time to build a successful business. However, like any business, the food truck industry is competitive and requires careful planning, hard work, and a strong commitment to success.

My idea of having a food truck came from me cooking for my friends and  family for the holidays, and having conversations about how great my food tatse, and my business mind when catering and planning events. I knew that “I’m much more of a businesswoman than a  cook, and I knew I could make a good return if I focused on my special recipies that were generated from my grandmother. Having this skill, and the fact that I can feed people, make money, and have fun at the same time was ultimally the best, and most of all  I would’nt have to work for another individual other than myself.

Within the next five years I would like to acquire more trucks to add to my one and the ability to offer individuals jobs with a bright future. I also plan to have my name sit on the shelf in your local and popular grocery stores, and in order to maximize my success is hard work, dedication and daring to be different.

“There are similarities that can be correlated between owning a business and attending a school, including the knowledge one can gain, as well as the obstacles one can encounter. It is easier to give up than to keep going, just as it’s easier to blend in a crowd than to stick out. Every day there’s more knowledge to be gained and every day there’s another obstacle to be overcome. It is what we choose to do with that knowledge and those obstacles that is important.”
